That's just "DS wireless" or simply "wireless". In technical terms, for ad-hoc connections it uses a proprietary Nintendo protocol which is actually a modified version of 802.11 Wi-Fi.
When we say a DS game has Wi-Fi, we mean that it connects wirelessly to a Wi-Fi router so you can play online.
