Warning For USB users
please sticky this...
If you purchase a Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector from the online Nintendo.com store make sure that you follow the directions exactly... you must not plug in the USB AT ALL before you install the software because if you do your computer will automatically install incorrect preferences for the USB. If you accidentally plug-in the USB before installing you must uninstall the preferences that were configured during that connection or you will not be able to use it. The following help is for USB users who have recieved the "INTERNET CONNECTION SHARING ERROR" when trying to install.
To do this (on a Windows XP) you must:
-go to the START bar
-enter the CONTROL PANEL (and make sure you are in Category View)
-enter the PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE category
-click SYSTEM
-click the HARDWARE tab
-hit the DEVICE MANAGER button
-choose the NETWORK ADAPTERS category
-plug in the USB connector
-right click on "Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector" in the NETWORK ADAPTERS cat.
-then click UNINSTALL
*note: you must be logged in to an administrator's account to do this
Now you can reinstall the software, but make sure to NOT plug in the USB connector before the software installation tells you to.
I took me about a week to find this out and no1 on the internet has this but me. I know this becasue even Nintendo couldn't help me(email or phone). The USB works great by the way and I am just mad i lost 1 week of my Mario Kart online career. Moral: keep trying, always listen to your mother, and always eat your vegtables.
PICS COMING SOON
