RE: Finally I

Yep, looks like we're going to have to wait for warpipe/demasked now to get our online fix.

I don't really care who brings it to me first, but I think I've lost total respect for Team Xlink now, especially TheDaddy.

My problem is the big hoopla they made when challenged by team warpipe to a bit of a "race" in who could bring the DS online first. Team Xlink, especially TheDaddy, went on a posting rampage to berate, and belittle anything that the warpipe team would say or, "divulge" as hints leading to it's project.

This got so out of hand infact, that TheDaddy, as well as the rest of his team, went on to boldy state they will be the first people to get the DS online, and even went so far as to delete every thread that questioned Team Xlink's claims, ultimately dissolving their entire Nintendo DS forum.

Here's a quote from TheDaddy, who leads Team Xlink when he was challlenged by Warpipe's team:

Quote:

Dont like us? Fine, dont play your ds over tunneling at all then."

"Yeah I'll dignify this with a loling response, you clown.

We're progressing with DS work, at a steady pace. It's gonna suck for you when it's released because you won't be able to use it. Perhaps Nitro can help you out - dunno.

As for us "trying to tear people down", well, since we've been doing this - nearly 2 years now - every man and his dog have had a crack at us - saying we have no users, saying we're pirates, hell, saying *anything at all* to try to stop people from coming here. XBC, Warppipe, Nitro - the list goes on man. Now, they're all dead - nobody uses Warppipe, XBC is dead now H2 is out, and Nitro will never be anything at all, because they have no coders.

I'm proud of what XLink had achieved in the last 2 years, and will continue to boldly flame the hell out of any jackass who disagrees. If you don't like that, go back to whichever tunnel you came from - unless our utter dominance of everything tunnel for the last 12 months has made those places boring?

TD"
Now all of that sounds pretty outrageous considering where the project is now. They say it's not dead, and they'll gladly turn over what they've discovered to anyone respectable enough to use it. What this means is that the quote above is entirely self praising rhetoric, because in truth they've hit a roadblock and need someone else to figure it out because they know they're going to lose the race, of which was the only reward for taking on this project since warpipe/demasked got funding.

Is TeamXlink just jealous? I don't think the team is, just TheDaddy, because he's been in this business for so long, and noone's ever offered him any funding for the fruits of his labor. Unfortunately he's too dumb to realize it's his fecking attitude that's keeping him from ever making it, here's proof:

We're not a company, never were, never will be.
That's right, with that attitude, you'll NEVER be more than a two bit operation.

On a Side Note: Interestingly, he doesn't make mention of the rumor of Sony paying them to stop development... Could it be? hehe

RE: GBA Movie Player?

I always knew Xlink would never make it. Mostly, because I really didn't like TheDaddy one bit. I was reading through the forums and found the quote (first one), and I immediately started laughing. Terrible attitude, that guy has. Oh well, as long as DS is tunneled it doesn't matter whose service I have to use. :D

RE: Hotspot

I have the feeling TheDaddy is a PSP fanboy (or anti-Nintendo) that was only trying to tunnel the DS because he felt he needed to in order to keep his fame, that's probably why he was so harsh and misunderstanding towards the people in the DS forum (that's the nature of people that hate Nintendo). He basically got himself stuck between a rock and a hard place and he's trying to make himself look innocent and everyone else stupid
I expected Xlink to be the first to tunnel given the reports of "by Christmas", but once they cleared out the forums in a childish manner I realized they weren't really looking forward to getting it tunneled for the average DS user.
Whichever tunnels the DS first and I have the hardware to support it, I'm all for it. Right now I'm looking forward to Warpipe/Demasked since they seem to be getting all the attention.

well i have allways supported warpipe ever since the got the game cube online etc.....

team xlink have never been that reliable for me anyway, they always want to show there the best when i have found on many occasions this not to be true. so i have backed the demasked project from the start.

ok so xlink stopped working with the DS , big deal .. i'd like to point out a few things tho ..

Quote:

ok did you even read what Nitro Online said in their mission statement, i would go on a posting rampage as well after that .. i can find that old statement somewhere if you missed it .. Nitro is a joke and won't get the DS online .. Warppipe is also a joke and won't get the DS online .. they have a gamecube tunnel with 2 people playing right now and both of them probably have a ping so high they can't play each other ..

Quote:
warpipe/demasked got funding.
from who ? if you think nintendo is funding them you have to be out of your mind .. warppipe the app as far as tunneling goes is crap, why would nintendo fund such a thing ? also their is pictures of Chad and someone else in the forums BUYING a DS at walmart when it was released .. uh don't you think that if they had a big online plan for the DS they would have had one long before they went on sale .. that whole funding thing has never been provin , offices ? ha, where? get me an address and a picture of the sign on the door, oh wait you can't cause their isn't one ..

Quote:
That's right, with that attitude, you'll NEVER be more than a two bit operation.
what ? your kidding right .. xlink is a large established gaming community , you can log on anytime during the day and play with over 1500 people from around the world on xbox,ps2,gc and psp .. warppipe has 2 , maybe .. XBC , well we don't know cause they don't show their online count but i just went in search of a game of GR2 and 4 people were playing , xlink has 102 ..

xlink software far exceeds anything that nitro/warppipe will ever release .. have you looked at the sourceforge page ? the best is that post where the guy sez "OMG I wann b a deviloper!!1!!" and the guy from nitro actually believes him and answers "ok we got lots of work to do" .. hahaha.. some funded company ya got there, they can't even get programmers ..

also xlink isn't "funded" and never will be .. they don't even except donations, they give them to charity ..

Quote:
i have backed the demasked project from the start.
oh boy , you have issues .. what the hell have you been backing all this time? you don't even know what it is .. all you get are clues, and they are stupid .. the logo is ugly and nothing will ever come of it ..

in closing i would like to add, who cares if we can't tunnel nintendos current game selection for the DS .. i mean really , mario online ? whoo a game i beat 4 years ago on the n64!! wow! .. Metroid Prime hunters DEMO , oh wow it looks like Doom2 running on a 486, wow where do i sign! .. you get the point ..

oh and one more thing ..

if nintendo is going to be going online with games in the near future it will mean that your A. going to have to buy an adapter so your DS will talk to your network because of the crap Ni-fi ****, so theirs $50 .. B. Nintendo will leave it up to the developers to implement the proper TCP/IP stack into the games, how well did that work out for the gamecube?

have a nice day :]

oh and to add another small point ..

the whole xlink DS forum was filled with posts like that , why would you keep something like that open ? i would ban myself if i typed something as dumb as that, given that you are drunk you should stay away from having an intelligent opinion on anything.
