360-first thoughts

I played one today...
mostly watched my friend play...
I still don't get it...
must've been gotham city racing...
despite all the 3D power of the XBOX 360 the trees still looked like the leafs we're made of sprites.
Also, in Call of duty 2 it looked like SUXBOX 360 still needed Anti Aliazing.

Let's just see how everyone feels next year when PS3 and Revolution are out.
I smell another DreamCast on our hands.

Yeah, I watched some kids play Call of Duty 2 on a 360 over at GameStop. I admit I was really impressed with the visuals (as I should be on a $1200 TV), but the gameplay just made me want to run home and play Day of Defeat. I find that to be the most fun WWII game.

In other words, the 360 did a good job with the graphics, but hasn't exactly changed ANYTHING in regards to play style. As far as I'm concerned, that's not much of a next-gen...


Oh, I just remembered this hilarious thing that happened the other day. I was in Walmart and they had a 360 kiosk near a 'Cube kiosk. Of course, I headed right to the 'Cube, and soon a flock of kids hit the 360. As they indulged in CoD2, I booted up Mario Strikers.

What was funny that I realized later was the difference in the kids reactions and my reactions. Here I am an 18-year old college student playing a Mario game next to some middle-schoolers playing an M-rated World War 2 game. The difference? While they just seemed to stare wide-eyed at the screen, I was literally jumping up and down with glee. Seriously, I was so giddy it was creepy. I don't know why, I was just plain having fun. There's something remarkably enjoyable about watching Mario run around slide-kicking people and kicking fireballs in their faces. Ahh, good times...

some lady actaully asked me to show her how to play and I said I missed being a kid
(I'm even older then nmaster64, at 23)

Nmaster COD2 is T first of all. second of all, SUPER MARIO STRIKERS IS SO FUN!! me n my friends were playing it for like an hour at gamespot laughing our asses off at hitting eachother. we had so much fun they bought me SSBM so we could beat eachother up while waiting for Strikers to come out, and they also bought me another controller so all of us could play. it was fun.

yea but gamespot gave SMS liek a 7.3 or somethin

Yeah, and they made all the Mario gang bada$$ too! Everyone's so mean, it's awesome. And Peach is in one hot little tight outfit! It's kinda wrong...and yet oh so right...

My brother has just got his XB360 and to be honest it's not all that interesting. Kameo is a Zelda rip off, Condemned is the same thing all the time and Perfect Dark is far from perfect. It just doesn't offer anything new except for a sexy machine with sweet graphics.
