Battle for Wesnoth

Battle for Wesnoth is a great TBS game for the PC with loads of RPG aspects. Best of all, it's open source, free, independently developed, comes with a map editor, and has fully-functional online play. It's really a great game, set in a midieval fantasy world. The game is always being improved, with regular updates from the community as well. I've been kicking it about for a while now, so I'll share it, and hopefully we can play some in the near future.

it's gone through some more updates aswell...
it's now on 1.1.7...
i'm trying to download it now...
does it require much off my rig to run?

erm... is a TBS game a turn-based strategy?
i'm a bit behind in all the sayings like that...

Actually, the current development version is 1.1.7, but they've frozen the code to catch up on translation, since the newest stable version is a big advancement, 1.0.2, so that's the latest. And yes, Turn Based Strategy. Also, it won't require much computing power.

i've only won one campaign level thingy so far, the rest i've died on...

Some suggestions campaign-wise. The latest version comes with a different set of campaigns than the usual, but all are available if you hit the 'Get more campaigns' button at the bottom of the campaign selection menu. For beginners I'd suggest Tale of Two Brothers and The South Guard. For better players, Under the Burning Suns is a great campaign with an amazing story.
