Battlefield 2142 Confirmed!

Yeah, those of us keeping up on it expected this (remember that freaky mathematical clue a few days back?), but now there's a jawdropping trailer. Apocalyptic storyline, earthwide chaos, but it somehow doesn't look that much different from the Battlefield 2 except for the vehicles. Still awesome.

Now taking bets on recommended RAM. I say 4 gigs.

Psh. 4Gigs of RAM is the Minimum Requirement. 6 Gigs for flawless playback. 2GB nVidia 9900 video card or up. Processor no less than a clock of 5Ghz. Blu-Ray 5X drive. etc...

Kinda looks like the same graphics as the old one.... i'd say just a couple hundred more mhz and a little better vid card minimum....

I like the Battlefield series for it's historically accurate feel and high levels of action and fun. BF1942 was incredible, BFV wasn't much, and BF2 was decent (a bit demanding on my system, but still playable). The way I value BF2 is a little less than UT2004 and Raven Shield, and since I already have a bunch of great games I don't need another that's likely to be not-so-great, especially one of a failing series (BF1942 is still the best).
The historic value of BF2142 is completely lost and likely completely inaccurate to the future, it'll probably be too demanding for my wallet and EA is probably just destroying the series with sequels much like they've done with loads of other series' (most started by companies they bought).

I really liked BF2. But I certainly prefer UT04. I do very much agree though. I don't think that future tech will look anything like that. And EA always screws everything eventually, so... Frankly it looks more like a mod/expansion for BF2.

I may be wrong here but isn't 2142 hitting a next-gen console... it may even be the Xbox 360?

If so, I will get it. If not? Oh well.
