I decided it was time to start a thread on it.
So, having recently aquired Civilization IV, it has consumed at least a dozen hours of my time in the last few days. It's extremely addictive, even moreso than the old ones, and is the first really original entry in this classic and wonderful series since I and II. I had thought that Sid Meyers might be losing his touch, sitting back and relying on his former works, which while admittedly great, were losing some of their former edge. Then this game comes out, making the Civ series much more accessable, more streamlined, but at the same time, more complex. In that sense it reminds me of Advance Wars, however a distant game it is in most aspects. It's filled with cool features, like a personal favorite, Leonard Nimoy does all the voice acting. Whenever you get a new tech, Spock gives you a related quote, in all his cool spockyness. It's got some political humor as well, like this:
Also, there's lots of humor infused in the diplomacy as well. Give Ghandi the Horse Riding tech, and just maybe, he'll say "Did you ever know that you're my hero? Everything I wish that I could be?"
It's generally a great game. Anyone else have it?
