End of Traditional Zelda Games

Twilight Princess will represent the end of an era for Zelda games, according to Shigeru Miyamoto.From the Eurogamer article: "'This will be, without a doubt, the last Zelda game as you know it in its present form,' Miyamoto is quoted as saying. He declined to reveal any more details as to how the series will be reborn, but did go on to assure fans that Twilight Princess will be absolutely aces: 'Our goal was to make the best Zelda game ever. The most rich, satisfying and [melancholic]. I worked on it personally, moreso than Wind Waker. I haven't invested as much into any game as I have this one,' Miyamoto said."

According to the source article at Eurogamer, Mario's getting a new feel for the new gen as well:

And it's not just Zelda who'll be getting a next-gen makeover - everyone's favourite Italian plumber is set to star in a new game that will "surprise many people," according to Shigsy.

"Mario is and always has been a concept title from his birth. We are always looking for new ways of playing with him, manipulating him, to create something new and unique. We're in the midst of preparing something special for his future, something never before seen.

"Give us the benefit of the doubt. I think we'll present you with a new way to have fun."

Miyamoto also revealed that Mario is getting a brand new sidekick, but kept firmly schtum on the details. However, he did confirm that Mario 128 is simply a working title for the forthcoming game.

It can damn well be, the demo is of dreams, i love the combat, its frigin awesome, horse back rules.

i thought that was kind of obvious when i read it, cause its obviously not gonna be the same on the DS with the whole touch screen thing and its not gonna be the same with the Revolution's new controller. its the end of everything traditional in nintendo's world after the GCN is done

I don't think so. Traditional console games will obviously still be possible, even on the revolution. With the ability to play console games, it will easily be possible.

you're forgetting that Nintendo doesn't want to make traditional games any more.

they will make a mix of traditional and new kinds as it is way to much of a risk making all of there games very diffrent and new in a way

I honestly could care less. I've enjoyed most of the Zelda games thus far, and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the future ones.

the real question is whats a traditional game to begin with

(ive got in sted of starting off weak and collecting power ups you start of strong and you hve to loose them)

coz theres such a wide range of gamplay out there is no traditionalany more

not worred eiter. Nintendo have yet to mess up a zelda title since zelda 2 (ofically never happened). they have all been top quality. I think zelda could do with big changes (not that i think thee boring or anything) so i welcome anything they do to make it even better. same with mario.
