The PS2 gets alot of stick, even from me, but I've got to admit, it just has all these great games that keep me coming back. Series like Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxtar (which I personally don't like, though alot do), Onimushu, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and dare I say it, GTA, which keep gamers interested in the system.

The PS3 may be expensive, but I asure you, it will have the games to make the purchase worthwhile.

I'll agree that the PS2 had a fine run, but I don't believe that PS3 will work as well considering the developer situation. So far only the 360 has solid game titles, both the others are up in the air. Considering the Rev is being toted as Developer Friendly and the PS3 is toted by developers as being.... hellishly hard, put two and two together.

Well, the PS3 could be as far away as one and a half years to being released, and already they have have a similar sized launch list (maybe not in quality, Xbox 360 has some real quality games coming out) despite the 360 being released very, very soon.

Plus, saying it's hard to develop for PS3 - people will go a long way to make a buck or two, trust me.

Hmmm... I like the look of the 360, but does it really have the titles to compete. Remember, the Xbox sold quite a bit in America because a) it was the most powerful and b) it had the best online service. The other two companies may have pulled back with Xbox Live (or at least are attempting to) and, although it's debatable, the PS3 seems more powerful at the moment...

It's very hard to say at this point, to say the least. And though the PS3 may have some confirmed games, no REAL gameplay footage or REAL hands-on experience (if you site the MGS trailer, well there's proof that it was running in real time, but none at all that it was running on the PS3, or that the game will look anything like that). Also... I'm not sure they're done with the hardware yet, much less the development software.

Either way, i think the article, while stating some true facts, is a bunch of stupidness, going back on previous opinion on it a while back.
People will not suddenly "not buy" a PS3, just because of the games, it wasnt the reaon why so many bought the PS2 in the first place. Sony have been extreamly clever, theyve won over the market and its not going anywhere, they will still get the sales, and no matter how much it costs (well to an extent) publishers/ developers will make games for the system solely based on the fact that the PS2 dominated thsi gen and is the premier name in video games now.

psssshhhhhh no way sorry i am not dishing out 70-80 bucks just for one freaking game. besides the fact that the PS3 will be really expensive anyway, im not paying THAT much just for the same games with way better graphics. 3/4 of the PS3 lineup seem to be sequels. o yay? same gameplay, semi-new story, better graphics? for 70-80 bucks? uh, no thanks.

ive talked to friend who were diehard sony FBs and were pc gamers too and becasue of the outrageous PS3 price they just stayin PC next generation

I've been all PC and Nintendo handheld since PS1 died off. I occasionally play PS1 when I'm bored enough or just to show off my sweet VIVO setup, and all the original games can still be fun. But as for current gen, I'm sticking to the really good stuff (PC, DS, and Revolution if I can).
