I always level Mathew. Almost always. The lower levels are usually better than the ones you get later on. Also, fairly certain assassins can lockpick.

If you are talking about Legault you get him on the level I'm on.

So what you're saying I have to pick between Kent and Sain, not both? I'll pick Kent since he's attack, which I like.

I didn't know how to get Canas so I couldn't.

What would you recommend levelling up, Raven or Guy?

they end up pretty even at 20/20 i've checked both. Guy can get great crit hit chance, and most attacks will miss him. raven can dish out better damage without relying on the crit, and hes got pretty good avoid and defense.

killing edge + guy = about 65% crit chance at high levels.

I cant belelieve you forgot the assasin's name, his name is Jaffar, the best damn character in the game since he instantly kills people 50% of the time.

Ok, Euan, the characters you should level up shouldn't be people that start out strong, actually it all depends on thier growth rate. Here is a list of all the people with grade A growth rate,(note) I've also used these characters till the end.

Erk- great character overall, nice speed and attack, he is actually stronger than that sage you get in the desert if you train him, then class change.

Barte- he is the best axe weilder in the game, my opinion. He is a slow powerhouse but you also need him to get Karla, so I suggest you train him well and of coarse class change him. I changed him to a berserker.

Dorcas-just a weaker copy of Bartre, the thing he has over Bartre is a little speed. Use him if you want an extra axe person.

Guy- My 2nd favorite character in the game. He is also the best Swordsmaster because of his high growth rate. He excels in everything. Note* I would wait until Lv 15 to class change him so he can get that extra speed boost from growth.

Priscilla- She has great growth within her attack status...the only bad thing about her is that she is very hard to level up, but if you manage to get her to lv 10, she's a tank when she class changes. She excels more in magical defense more than anything.

Raven- The best Hero in the game if you class change him at lv 13 or higher. Raven excels in speed and power, he is the Captain Falcon of this game. The only problem you have is trying to keep him alive in the chapter you get him in.

Mathew-Err, he sucks, just use Jaffar or Legault. I'm serious about this, I invested so much in Matthew to test how great his stat growth was,he is by far the most useless person in the game, even at lv 20 as an assasin.

Fiora-Florina-Farina- these are the only three peg knights in the game...3 is all you need for the PEGASU TRIANGLE ATTACK! I would invest in all threee of these women since they all have good stat growth and you need all 3 in a triangle formation on the map to do the secret Trinagle Attack which always do a critical hit on anyone.

Rath- The only class of his kind unfortunately. He excels in almost everything but the majority goes to speed. He is a must have in your team when you class change him to a Nomadic Trooper...or was it Ranger...ahhh hell just class change him.

Wallace- I never actually seen his growth rate because I never used him since his level starts out high. I also took the other, more secret route of the story.

Nina- 2nd best Sage in the Game, Erk being the 1st. You have to recruit Nin in order to get Jaffar, at first I thought Nina was just Jaffar's dead weight, but infact her growth rate is freaking insane! Her power kinda overpowers Erks if you class change her like at lv 16. The only female Sage in the game, the strongest as well, a must have in your party.

Hector-Lyn-Eliwood. Bascically, you have to use them. Eliwood is the weakest out of the 3, I was glad when I was able to do Hectors story. Lyn is the most powerful out of the 3 with her high speed and attack, Hector in 2nd with high attack and defense, then Eliwood who tries to be gooin everything but fails in them all.

Canas- The only Shaman in the game...His stat growth is ok but nothing out of the ordinary, I only used him because he was the only person who could use dark magic.

Geits- 2nd best Warrior in the game. You probably don't know who Geits is, you get him in one of those extra stages, you have to do that bonus stage at the desert. The stats he start out with are good and his stat growth is good, nuff said.

Jaffar- like I said, best damn person in the game, does instant kills and he barely gets hit by anything. He also has some pretty good stat growth even though you get him at a high level already.

Karl- mabe the 2nd best Swordmaster in the game, it depends if you have Karla. His stat growth is nice, very solid attack and speed...his HP growth is kinda slow though

Karla- the 2nd best Swordmaster in the game. She excels at everything Karl doesn't and some. She quite a speed demon, it usually maxes out before lv 12 and the rest of her stats aren't to far behind....What I can't get is that she is Bartre's lover. Oh yeah, you need Bartre to get her and you get her right before the final chaper,Preperations.

....I'm tapped out right now, I'll post some more stuff about characters later, now I'm going into my maximazation strategy.

Okay, Mormon, it was a bad idea not to use the Arena, because I max out my characters at the first chapter with a arena. All I do is put a healer, cavalier, and the person you want to train at an arena entrance, the train the hell out of them. If they run low on hp, you have the healer there to tend to the wounds, if you want to switch the person your training, you have the cavalier to move them out of the way. Half of my characters was al lv 20 on chapter...well the first chapter with the arena.

Oh yeah, always get a relationship started with the characters. lmao, I got Lyn and Hector to lv A, then I always pair them off whlie I explore, nobody could touch them because of the power boost they gave eachother. I dont want to tell you who to pair up but it's plain and simple who should be with who. Always max out thier relationship and keep them alive so you can get thier ending.

I always max thier relationship at the same time I train them, so many turns pass when training so you might as well do it. Oh yeah, Eliwoods and Ninians ending is the best. If you dont know how to start up relationship just sit the 2 characters side by side on the map for a certain amount of terns until the option "talk" pops up..thats all, repeat it 2 more times to max it out.

Well, I'm tapped right now, post more tommorow, hope this helps some...man, this makes me want to start a new game on all my fire emblems

Btw, Mormon, got a translation for FE1, the one with Marth in it. I'm on Chapter 3 now, hit me up if you want the translation...nvm, you might as well wait, it only translates the options, not the story....but if you still want it.

dude i didn't forget the name of the assasin, i said "certain assasin" because i didn't want to give away teh fact that you get one of the 4 fangs.

and secondly, you're on friggin' crack. NEVER upgrade before level 20. its just stupid. you're losing 5 levels of growth leveling at 15(like what you said with guy >_>). and there is NO WAY lyn is better than hector, no way. i've leveled them all out 20/20 and hector freaking dominates lyn and eliwood.

i never tried the lyn-eliwood ending.... it can't be that different from ninian's.

Some characters it doesn't matter if you wait till lv 20 to class change. There stats usually maxes out between lv7-16 at their 2nd class. It's a waste of time to get them at lv 20 when you know you will have to class change. You gain so many levels in the 2nd class it really makes no difference.

what? since when? i've never had a character that didn't get any stat growth once it reaches a certain level.

sure, it won't grow on like lvl 17, but on 18 it'd get +1 to something else.

That can be achieved with 1 level in ther 2nd class x2, thats why it's kinda a waste for them to go all the way to lv 20 in thier first class, but hey, if you want to spend extra hours doing so, go ahead.

Btw, since Euan said he was playing through Fire Emblem again, I thought he knew who Jaffar was.

Man, Lyn killls Hector. First of all shes a sword weilder, plus shes gets 2 attacks off against Hector while he has 1. More than likely 1 of Lyns attacks are critical. Sure you can equip a Swordreaver to Hector, but at the same time you can equip a Lancereaver to Lyn which cancels out the weapon weakness. Weapon and stat wise(some areas) Lyn kills Hector.

i put 20/20 lyn in the arena against 20/20 hector. lyn did a grand total of 20 dmg by the time she was dead. hector has 60 hp.

his armor is intense. you have to equip the armorslayer for lyn to beat hector.

It was different for me, I agree with Hectors intense defense but when I put them against eachother, Lyn ran circles around Hector doing one or 2 criticals per round. Hector hit her once and only once but it did do some damage, 36 to be exact. I guess these character have thier on and off days.
