Fire Emblem help

Been replaying Fire Emblem and I absolutely love this game. There is one thing I'm not sure over though and I'm sure the Mormon's amongst you can help. How do I level up? Do I level up but concentrate on certain characters or do I level up completely equally?

I don't want to waste valuable level up's on people who I will never use in the future... who are the useful characters?

Raven, Canas, Guy, Hector, Sain, Kent, Priscilla, Eliwood, and that knight with hector... forgot the name.

It's really all preference. Level up whoever you like. Other than mormon's pics, I like Dorcas. Level your healers obviously. And how dare you not mention Erk? Sure, you get better later, but he's still massively useful for most of the game.

the ones i listed are the best in terms of stat growth, its not really personal preference.

If you learn to use the colusseum properly, then you can level up as much as you like, really. But the best place to do that is no walk in the park, since normally you would need to sneak around... Also, how far in the game are you so far?

i never use the coliseum...

Hector - Level 12
Lyn - Level 10
Guy - Level 10
Erk - Level 15 (it was the battle on the ship that did that!)
Priscilla - Level 5
Sain - Level 12
Kent - Level 10
Wil - Level 10
Raven - Level 7
Marcus - Level 2
Lowen - Level 7
Dart - Level 8
Florina - Level 6
Bartre - Level 5
Serra - Level 5
Rebecca - Level 5
Dorcas - Level 6
Fiora - Level 7

(All stats are pre-level 19, the Dragons Gate...)

Matthew and Orwin died unfortunately. I couldn't be bothered going back. I didn't manage to get Canas either!

hm... not getting canas is bad lol.

but ok... you're going to have to choose between Kent and Sain for your main hitman. you can't raise both of them up to 20/20 without having the rest of the team underpowered. Sain is speed/skill and Kent is strength/defense so its up to you...

same goes with guy and raven, choose one of them to level, not both. so choose between hero or swordmaster on that one.

mathew dying is bad... you're going to want a thief until you can get Legault. it looks like you're not using marcus, which is good... but yeah just keep doin what you're doin i guess

You don't have Canas. That is indeed bad. And mathew died... Well, won't matter after you get a certain assassin.

i don't think the "certain assasin" can open locks and such, at least to my memory he can't

i always used legault... you can upgrade him to an assasin anyway with that contract thing from sonia if you want
