I was flaming those guys that do nothing but play Halo, think their badass tough guys, and just diss Nintendo for being to kiddy and crap. They can't even be called real gamers...

But yes, Halo is highly overated, I don't really think that point is arguable. It's a good game, to be sure (god I want 2 on PC), but it's still just another FPS.

dude halo owns both of those games... you obviously haven't played much multiplayer halo.

I did and I liked it (I still found the analog sticks hard to control though), but I just didn't see that unique factor that either BF1942 or UT2004 has, and mods are huge on both games and consoles will never match up to PC modability.

Overated != bad

I love Halo, I'll even say it's the best current-gen multiplayer FPS (well, Counterstrike gives it a run for it's money). It's still overated. The amount of hype and the psychosis of it's fanbase is just not merited...it's great, but not worth the money to buy that system with no other killer titles...

Halo and Counter-Strike are last-gen, Halo 2 and Counter-Strike: Source are current-gen.

I never really got the enormous appeal of Counter-Strike to be honest... Halo is pretty good, but that's all. It's nothing in comparison to games like UT for what they are. Comparing it to Battlefield isn't quite fair, since Halo is an action FPS, and Battlefield is team/squad based, but I still prefer Battlefield. Though I have been playing some Halo 2 online at my nieghbor's a good bit. Took a while to get used to the dual analog, but... um... it still doesn't compare to UT.

CS is tactical, UT is mindless, BF is team-based, and Halo's in a middle-ground somewhere...

halo is just better... i admit i haven't played UT much, but i own BF1942 and i've played a lot of CS and i still much prefer halo.

Wouldn't Halo be more on the side of UT? It doesn't really take much brainpower to play. To prove it doesn't, i managed to play 3 whole levels without realising where i was. It's just point-and-shoot.
