Good Idea?

OK so I was training my Eevee and Blastoise at Mt. Ember.......then I encountered a shiny ponyta. I had to use my masterball because i had no other pokeballs at the time. Was it a good idea?

Er, why would you use a master ball on a shiny pokemon? I dunno, they just dont seem worthy of a masterball....

No offense or anything but shiney pokes aren't anything near what they're cracked up to be. The only thing catching one shows is that the RNG happened to be in your favor for some random event that doesn't influence stats, movepool, or anything else actually important. Meh. Maybe I play nb too much for my own good, but the GBA pokemon games have become exceedingly pointless to me. It could take ages to make a team on your GBA, and then, you play a link battle and find out you have an insane weakness you overlooked to a very common pokemon (ie. Tyranitar or Salamence), and end up having to start all over from scratch again.

Anyway, I've been ranting too much. If you're in to showing off to your friends, it was a good idea. If you're like me and take multiplayer games too competitively (ie. nb, smash, and mkds for me), it was a very poor choice, considering Rapidash sucks in standard OU.

you could've cloned the masterball as soon as you got it...
i did that and had like 4 sets of "masterball X 99"
that way you didn't have to worry about using other balls on any other pokemon...
but saying that i had pretty much every pokemon possible...
i think i played well too much of it...
it gets quite boring after a few years of it...

Dude I caught it because it was my first shiny pokemon ever and I used a masterball...wat does competitiveness have to do with wat ball i use?
