"METROID OBLIVION TO TAKE NEXT GENERATION BY STORM
First Details Pertaining To Next Generation Metroid Title Have Been Revealed. A Video Presentation Will Follow At E3 2005 REDMOND, Wash., April 1, 2005 – Nintendo President Satoru Iwata and Retro Studios Senior Designer, Mike Wikan jointly revealed the latest Metroid title for the next generation Nintendo console, code-named Revolution. Iwata confirmed that the next Metroid game would be called Metroid: Oblivion and would be completely unveiled at this year’s E3 convention in Los Angeles. Wikan had the following comments to add: •Metroid: Oblivion is scheduled to be released along side the North American launch of the Nintendo Revolution •Oblivion’s storyline will not take place within the story arc created in the Prime series •For the first time in the Metroid series, players will be able to traverse several planets •Samus Aran will no longer be completely alone on her mission. A new main character will be introduced in Metroid: Oblivion The Nintendo Revolution will also be unveiled at this year’s E3 along with the highly anticipated Legend of Zelda title for the Nintendo GameCube. The worldwide leader and innovator in the creation of interactive entertainment, Nintendo Co., Ltd., of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its popular home and portable video game systems. Each year, hundreds of all-new titles for the best-selling Game Boy® Advance SP, Nintendo DS™ and Nintendo GameCube™ systems extend Nintendo's vast game library and continue the tradition of delivering a rich, diverse mix of quality video games for players of all ages. Since the release of its first home video game system in 1983, Nintendo has sold more than 1.9 billion video games and more than 336 million hardware units globally, creating enduring industry icons such as Mario™ and Donkey Kong® and launching popular culture franchise phenomena such as Metroid®, Zelda™ and Pokémon®. A wholly owned subsidiary, Nintendo of America Inc., based in Redmond, Wash., serves as headquarters for Nintendo's operations in the Western Hemisphere. All of us here at Project COE are completely stunned by this news and while Iwata and Wikan may not have revealed a whole lot about the upcoming Metroid game, the idea of having it at launch is enticing. Nintendo also released several shots of the real time engine that Retro Studios has created for the Nintendo Revolution. These are the first screenshots of an actual next generation Nintendo game, enjoy. We’ll have much more on this at this year’s E3. To say we are excited is an understatement" Screenshots: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Source: http://www.projectcoe.com/Nin_News/news280305_9.html -- I want to know your comments on this. If this is true, and these are the kind of games the revolution will have.. then say goodbye to the PS3 and Xenon. P.S. I'm back from Hawaii. *NOTE* I didn't notice this when I posted it, but the date is April 1st, so this is probably just an elaborate April Fools joke. |

RE: Re: RE: Water Discovered On Mars!
Those pics are a JOKE for sure. They are from an old Metroid commercial back for Metroid Prime 1. I can link you to it if I can find it.
Here you go! http://gametrailers.com/player.php?id=2262&type=mov Wish to god this was true, but if the pics are fake, and it's april 1st, it's improbable. |
