That's stupid. I don't see why people have such a bad attitude towards videogames.
I don't know about you but games offer me a a world where I can escape...to have fun in an easy and accesible way. Yeah maybe we should go and play outside and get what they call "fresh" air but I did that when I was five. I think it's time for parents and adults to realise that Videogames are hobbies not life stealers. If they think that violent videogames are currupting our "fragile" minds then they should start laying down some facts before they start churning out their rediculous bull crap. Point said. |

i agree totally, it is pretty rediculous. It is up to the parents to decide what to do , they have the decision to not ever let their kids play any games at all or the decision to let them and know that games are violent, the rating system is not broken, it is parents and people that dont check driver's license faults that end up ruining it for us. i love the excuse "oh i didn't know it was a violent game" when there is a big M on the front.

that translates roughly too "Well, democrats are down in the polls again, and we've got an election in under a year, therefore ingnore the war we voted for, and we'll save you from (insert finctional threat)" I love how video game violence is always the worst it has ever been... All we heard about this time last year was GTA3 and then 25 to life, but NOW it's the worst it's ever been... yeah, freaking Mario Kart DS.... it's horriable. I believe Thaman posted this in a related thread: http://gr.bolt.com/oldsite/articles/...e/violence.htm

It just bugs me how they come out of nowhere to present this from nowhere with no warning at all, an obvious attempt with christmas coming up to warn parents that videogames are horrible presents. With wat they were saying it was like they want all M games to be AO so companies wont sell them, T to be M, and E to be T. imagine if that happened the uproar it would cause (i know it wont but if it did what would u feel like?) What they should be more worried about is what kids look up on the internet, it is sooo easy for a kid to get a hold of a credit card or check card and buy things online, i dont hear one word about internet shopping. So all in all they just need to leave us alone, especially us that are finally able to buy M games( omg it is so nice to have M games, they are truely better than most)
