New RTS for my PC

ok after playing red alert 2 to death and it becoming one of my most favorite games ever i have decieded to buy another real time stratergy war game.
i have Rome: Total War in mind at the moment but i basically want something that plays like red alert 2, is easy to play, but plays slightly different some how.

Get Command and Conquer Generals!! Its from the famous Command and Conquer series(red alert1,2). If you do get it make sure you get the Expansion Pack. You can get both for $30 in the US.

well if your looking for something like command and conquer then geneals is a pretty good bet. Id ger rome though. its absolute class.

Starcraft: Brood War. It's super cheap lately, has an enormous amount of maps, mods, and ranked players, and no subscription fee for battle.net. Not to mention even for the massive amount of mods there's no need to wade through all the patches. Automatic updates, and whenever you enter a game with a map you havn't played you automatically d/l it quickly. It's one of the best RTS games ever made.

sounds good and also sounds complicated. i want a good old fashion war military RTS, which is pretty much straight forward.
i am looking in C&C Generals now.

Well, starcraft is a sci-fi, but it's probably the best balanced ever made, even though you get three very different and very cool races to chose from (zerg, protoss, and terrans (humans)).

is it this one or is that just the expansion pack? they dont detail it enough on there.
