Right, so this review isn't exactly new (dated September 1, 2005), but it is a positive review nonetheless. They managed to score it a 4.5/5, praising its size and its "public appeal." Normally, I wouldn't have an issue with such a positive review. However, there was one (well, okay, two) issue(s) that bothered me.
The first isn't so bad, it's just a small annoyance. It actually doesn't have anything to do with the review at all. Just the "game" they chose to display alongside the unit. It was one of those Spongebob Squarepants episode cartridges. I mean, really now. Spongebob? You could have at least went with a Mario game or something. Way to show your child-like side, dude.
Now here's the thing about the review that drives me insane into the next month: one of the cons listed. "What?! You have an issue with one of its cons? You, sir, are retarded." No, that's not what I'm getting at. It's just best to show/tell you exactly what I'm so upset about
:
I was willing to let the whole "Spongebob" thing slide, but this is just not cool at all. WTF?! DS games are not compatible with the Micro?! Woopdee-flippin-doo!
What part of "Game Boy" do you not understand? Look at both systems, man. DS: Two screens, one functioning as a touch screen. GBA/M: One screen, no touch-functionality whatsoever. These are two different systems. Okay?
So... you expected to play a game that requires TWO SCREENS and should/might/does require TOUCH SCREEN CONTROL on a device with a tiny screen, only marketed and produced to play GBA games that has ONE (count 'em), ONE screen and no touch-screen functions whatsoever?
Grrrr... I must vent my frustration elsewhere.
