I got Jade Empire and i have to say i'm a little dissapointed. The fighting feels like a bit of a button masher and the scope of the game is very small. there are only 2 hubs, so to speak, and you can get through them very quickly. The first one is good but the second is a bit boring. And then about 2 3rd through the game you are committed to finishing it. They did a lot right though. The graphics are wonderful, the animation is great, the characters are well fleshed out and you do get the impression that they studied Chinese myths and legends to great lengths and loved it. Unfortunately it doesn't shine through in the game. the story really doesn't do it justice and its a bit short (15hrs on first run with a few side quests done). It feels unfinished. Still i love biowares games and i love the chinese legends topic (must actually read a few) and so i look foreward to the sequel. I know bioware won't mess up again.
Overall 7/10 for me Your thoughts? |

RE: GameCube Advanced?
hmm i was really looking forward to this one, since they said it would be kinda like KOTOR but not that real-time strategy/action mix. i normally expect top notch games from bioware, considering they were so busy working on Jade Empire that they couldn't be bothered with the sequel to the game of the year(KOTOR).
yea maybe im not getting this one then. |
