Portal

This incredible-looking FPS-Puzzle game made by Valve, to be destributed through Steam on PCs and with HL2: Episode 2 on consoles, just released an insane trailer. I like how Slashdot put it; "It hurts my brain in all the right ways." The basis of the game is to solve puzzles with incredible feats using portal technology. You have to see it to believe it. It seems simple at first, but then the video just goes crazy... Valve has done it again. A little taste:

Make sure to watch on High-Res:

Do HL2 owners get it for free or do we gotta pay? Valve releases too many good games >_<

I saw this yesterday embedded in a MySpace profile, it looks so good I set out looking for an alternative for UT2004, since I doubt I'd be getting HL2: Episode 2. I found something similar for UT2003 but it only half works in UT2004, the search continues...

I'm told there's already a Prey mod that does this to some extent.

For UT2004? I'll check it out.

Edit: I'm not seeing it anywhere.

No. A mod for Prey. Prey has a similar portal deal, but it's much less imaginative. Someone modded a way for you to actually shoot the portals, and you can figure out the rest...

That sounds very much like the mod I found for UT2003, they have physical portals that can be destroyed, they got the idea from Stargate SG1.

Hmm, as it so happens the people that are making Portal made a somewhat less impressive game with roughly the same theme called (could be wrong with the spelling here) Narbacular Drop.

Edit: Score:

Edit again:
I recorded some nifty video of Narbacular Drop, so check it out on my GS profile.
