Possible Nwizard.com Nintendo Podcast

UPDATE: I've collabed with Pilot_51 and DSdude on their TouchDS podcast!

For those who haven't heard, there's a good chance Nintendo is about to start their own podcast.

The First Nintendo Podcast (Via Nwizard.com).

And when I reported on it, it sparked an idea in my head. I went searching through the Podcast Directory, and located the majority of Nintendo-related podcasts. And I listened, and my ears burned. The horendous quality, incorrect facts, boring analysis, and just lack of professionalism among that category of podcasts is stagerring.

So, I present to you this proposal. I may be interested in doing an Nwizard.com bi-weekly Nintendo podcast. However, while my site enjoys a nice following, it doesn't quite merit me spending the hours necessary to produce a consistant podcast.

So, I ask you, would you be interested in a bi-weekly Nintendo podcast? The format would be reporting on Nintendo news, speculation on Nintendo's future, both product-wise and business-wise, market analysis, and anything else like this of importance. It probably wouldn't be horrendously long, more in the area of between 15 and 30 minutes, depending of course on how much stuff has happened in the last couple weeks.

I would want to base a lot of the show on a mailbag-type thing, where listeners send me emails or post in the forums questions to have answered on the show. A call-in via Skype type thing may even come into play later for live calls.

My number one problem would be lack of a co-host, because I feel 2 people are a much better mix than just 1. Maybe a TouchDS moderator would like to help me out?

So, you all tell me, is this a just plain psychotic idea, or does it have some merit and support? I leave it to you...

Well, I can't talk for the whole of TouchDS, but I already think some sort of TouchDS podcast is being created/'radio-type show'. Doesn't rule out this/you being involved in some shape or form of course.

If you want to look, NMaster, it's in the TouchDS board near the bottom of the page, not far up from the top.

To those trying to start a TouchDS podcast: I would be happy to simply be a part your podcast, as I really don't want to compete with you. If I could get some more info on that, that'd be great!

Yeah, a few of us have been throwing around the TouchDS podcast, starting with Pilot_51 I believe. If you were to produce one for your site, you could include the touchds one in some way, like add a short clip of the important DS news or whatnot.

Yeah I believe I'm the one to originally get serious about a TouchDS podcast, sparked by my sudden interest in podcasts and I think someone here mentioning "podcast".
Things have been slow as many of you probably know, especially with school back, but I still intend to put effort into making a successful podcast. We (myself and DSdude so far) could use all the help we can get, particularly in finding topics and getting plans down, and the more co-hosts available the better.
Anyway, anyone wanting to help can contact me any of the ways in my profile or any other way you can find laying around.
Oh and I'll get right on that Nintendo podcast.

So, yeah...I'm kind of confused as to who exactly is working this TouchDS podcast...what's the status, and who should I talk to about it?


As for what I'd like to contribute to the program, I'd really like to be kind of like a third party that comments on stories and on how they affect Nintendo and their consumers. Also, I'd really like to do kind of a market analysis thing when talking about stories that discuss Nintendo as a business. I do extensive research into the video games market, and I'm currently minoring in economics in college, so I feel that's something I could really help out with.


So, whoever it is that's doing this, get back to me about what you think.


Oh, and I don't know if there's going to be a website launched specifically for the podcast, like maybe just a subdomain like podcast.touchds.com or something, but if you guys need anything Web Design or Hosting wise, I do own my own hosting and design company (dccampbell.com), so I can get you guys a nice deal. Just tell me what you guys need, and I'm on the case!

I would be happier with just being a part of the TouchDS podcast if people have already started working on it.

However, I'm not sure the status of that yet, so I'd be equally pleased with doing a Nwizard podcast and making TouchDS a big part of it.
