Respraying SNES

lately ive seen a few pics of resprayed consoles, DS, SP, n64, PS2, pretty much everything but a SNES.. im thinking about buying a busted snes and controller, to do a respray job and then swap over the shells...

So my questions are... 1. has anyone here opened a PAL SNES, have pics of one caseless, or know if there easy to reassemble???

2. will i need to use special paint as to not melt the plastic??

3. is this a good color scheme?? (note quick ps whip up real product will be ford xr8 'blueprint' and midnight blue metallic and shiny)
