One of the next-generation consoles is upon us, the Xbox 360, and although it attracted my interest it's gradually waning as I await in anticipation for more information on the PS3 and the Revolution.

What are your plans for next-gen? Have you any savings? Which games, already announced, whet your appetite?

I have to say, save some sort of disaster from Sony with price and lack of developer support, I should get a PS3 and if the REvolution is cheap in both console and games (which I doubt, I somehow think games will be $59.99 like it's competitition, but that would rule me out getting a Revo!) I will almost certainly get one.

The 360 games that I think look simply superb are Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Gears of War and the Mistwalker games, as well as Resi 5 and UT2007. PS3 will have the big guns - Metal Gear Solid 4 and Final Fantasy XIII are the ones that interest me - and of course, the Revolution will have the charming games that you expect, as well as Twighlight princess support. Awesome.

im getting the 360 as my power horse and the revo as my gaming system. On the revo I look forward to future Zelda, Mario, Smash Bros, Mario Sports, and even Madden and a Baseball game to use the controller with.

Meh, we should make lkr a special award next year, 'most easily persuable member'.
To the point, i had a 360, as you may know, i got it too review for the local media, i later sold it, because i relized my editor wouldnt be coming round to my house to check up on me (or atleast i hope not) so i'll be going to either my cousins, or my friends or my uncles to review games if and when i need to. The 360 didnt really do anythign for me, and i didnt see it doing anything for me in the future.

I'll be purchasing a PS3 and Revo both at their respective launches/

I thought LKR was totally against the 360, that's why I'm saying...

... by the way, the funds? Steady £300 I'd say. In the end I'll probably get a PS3 for Christmas 2006 (let's hope it's out then!) and then buy a Revolution with my own money. That is if I get a Revolution, but that's debatable at the current time, with my disappointment in the Gamecube...

360 with oblivion for me when the price goes down. after that ill be damed if im paying €70 for games (oblivion being the exception since it will be at least 200hours of quality gaming). the games companies can stick it. If nintendo commits to having there games cheaper than their competitors (and hopefully 3rd parties will join em for the rev versions of their games) then itll be my primary format. Dear god i need a new PC.....must.....get......JOB!!! :(((

I personally hate every console except for Nintendo 64 and Nintendo DS, because they're the only ones that have games you can't play on the computer.

All other consoles are inferior to the almighty computer in every way.

I don't know many Gamecube games that you can play on the PC, apart from the multi-platform games. Haven't been playing Super Mario Sunshine, the Wind Waker or Super Smash Bros inbetween my TouchDS posting sessions...

... but hey, I love the DS... and Neumie I agree with you over the prices. I guess they will drop down to £39.99 after a while, so they will be maybe £35 online. That's not exactly ideal, but affordable.

unless Halo 3 is like mind-blowingly awesome or they make a kotor 3 for the x360, im probably not getting it.
