touch screen on revolution

dude, that is so wierd, i guessed that the controller was goin to be a touch screen, does anyone remembe me saying that? I can't remember where i posted it....

It's just a rumour. And as Mormon said how's it gonna play gamecube games. It must have all the standard buttons on.

And btw is that an actual screenshot of condemned? cuz i just read about this in the latest issue of Cube and apparently it's gonna be a Revolution launch title.

Nintendo have said that the DS hints at some of the things that the revolution will have. Im going to guess touch screen and maybe a built in mic into the controller. As for backward compability the revolution could just send details and buttons to the controller so that the GC pad is emulated be the screen. A touch pad like a laptop is a good idea but they are terrible to use. Try playing a fps on a laptop with a trackpad and see how far you get. They are terrible in practice. I only use mine in dire emergencies. All speculation and id say that well have to wait till the tokyo games show for real meaty details. I think nintendo will focus on the DS at E3.

Also, apparently an EA emplyee sent an email to nintendo stating that the touch screen on the controller will be of great use to them in the new football game. Rumours suck.

thats exactly wot ive been thinking for a long time about the touch screen pad emulating the gamecube pad

I've used touchscreens for about 6 years now, and I have to say, this is by far the worst implemenation of the idea I have heard yet.

How unfortunate, Nintendo loves it's gimmicks... Zelda anyone? (For those of you too fanboyish to realize, every Zelda game has a gimmick, wether it's controlling time, the wind, or even wearing a hat! Egads!)

I highly doubt the entire controller will be a touch-pad, my guess is that it is either in the middle or somewhere else. I'm also not worried about the price of the controllers because Nintendo insists on consumer-friendly prices. But if the Controller has a touch screen, that makes the "DSPlayer" completely possible.

I can't believe that you call those integral gameplay elements "gimmicks", and don't call me a fanboy because of it. Those were original ideas(maybe not controlling time, but they did it in an original way), and they implemented them well. Zelda games are some of the highest rated of all time and you call them gimmicky?

who cares if they're gimmicky anyway, they still are some of the best games ever.

i could care less if the DS's touch screen is gimmicky, as long as they crank out great games im happy
