What pc games should i get

You can build a PC for about $500 and be able to play almost every game except the very latest, and the thing about PC's is that you don't need to buy all the games you want to play, you could go online and download tens of thousands of games that are freeware, abandonware, or demos, and PC's have emulators for just about every gaming system ever created (I think only the old ones are legal). My PC (the motherboard and CPU anyway) is about 6 years old and I can still play BF2, although the settings need to be all the way down to avoid lag spikes.

I'm not spoiled, I'm practically getting kicked out the house atm.
My computer cost me £200-250, custom made, (by myself) and i can play most good games out at the moment. I don't know how much that is in U.S currency, but i can't imagine it's terribly expensive.
I just saved up christmas and birthday cash to get it.

What sort of games are you into? FPS? RTS? RPG? Hack'n'Slash?

You guys don't understand. It would take 5 more years for the money to custom build my own...unless i get a job...andim interested in fps,rts,and rpg(not as much, and i wouldnt pay a monthly/anual fee)

Your CPU is better than mine and the rest of the specs you've given is fairly good, so BF2 shouldn't be a problem and you should be able to run the more intensive games that I can't run, that is unless your video card is junky.
