RE: Rare Working on the DS
Well, as many of you may know, X-COM: UFO Defence (UFO: Enemy Unknown in the UK) is my favorite game of all time. Most of the sequals have been pathetic failures, which has saddened me, since the original game was so amazing! A similar game from the creators, called Laser Squad was quite good, but still not quite as good.
Now, from the same developers comes what many of us in the TBS union at gamespot have been waiting for; a handheld x-com game... sort of. This new GBA game, titled Rebelstar: Tactical Command, appears to be a very nice looking incarnation of the series. Of course I'm concerned about it, for instance: has the tech tree returned, has the resource gathering and base building returned, and is it mission based? If you've never played X-COM, it is now available for free download. This site has a shining review, and has been on the top of the Most Popular list for years. I suggest giving it a try. If you need any help, I'm a pro at it. http://www.abandonia.com/games/38/UFOEnemyUnknown.htm Classic PC game X-COM and new GBA game Rebelstar ![]() ![]() |
