Question new 2 forum ; wanted to say hello

hello everyone ;
im new to this forum & the DS community.
i am looking to get a DS Lite in a couple of days, but wanted to get some suggestions, opinions & comments and a general understanding of this incredible device. i know a good amount of info about it, just wanted some actual " user input ". i have owned a PSP before, loved the experience but unfortunately had to sell it ( recently had baby ) SO im looking to get into the DS world now.
im looking to get either the black or white DS lite ; any differences other than color ( im pretty sure there isnt ) also, im a 25 yr old gamer, what titles would be good? what are some of the best titles available for the DS? thanks in advance!

edit : knowone's willing to give me any of their opinions?

Moved to Intro/Outro Board w/redirect.

There is also pink and dark navy DS Lites, but as far as I know the navy one isn't available in North America yet if ever.

If you have a Wi-Fi router, you'll need at least one Wi-Fi game to get a feel of how good it is. My favorite is Metroid Prime Hunters, a first person shooter with support for 4 players and a ton of maps and decent single player. Another game that is good for all ages is Animal Crossing: Wild World, which also supports 4 players, but it's limited to only people you add as friends or people on the local wireless; a couple of the nice features of going online with it is that you get mail from Nintendo and you get to see what other people drew on the face of the Mysterious Cat and create a face to be sent to someone else.
Maybe if you tell us what genres you're interested in, it would be easier for us to help you find one you'll enjoy.

BTW, thanks for editing, most newbies just post again even if it's simply to correct a typo (they keep us mods busy).

im actually also into shooters, but as far as i know the Ninetendo Ds isnt really a good platform for shooters. other than that i like racing games ; adeventure & action.i DO have a router so i will be going online, hoping to get that Opera browser if its available in the US yet ; also my daughter's got a DS as well so we'll be playing AdHoc. oh & your welcome for not double posting, ive learned my lesson in the past! lol .

EDIT: BTW ; i cant find anything on the MetroidPrime Hunters game? Gamestop doesnt carry it i guess ...

The FPS controls on DS are actually very good as long as you use the thumb strap (you'll probably need to buy spares since the Lite doesn't come with one), but I've heard complaints from people that can't get the hang of it. IMO, FPS on DS is the next best thing to FPS on PC, the control method is much the same (as if the touch screen is a mouse pad). For racing online, go for Mario Kart DS, it's the first online game for DS and said to be the best Mario Kart game ever, but since it's the first, the online features are very limited. The browser is still TBA for the US, but since it's released everywhere else you could try importing it.

I typed out a truly long post about which DS games would be great for you but then firefox went and crashed. Anyway, welcome to the site, hope you enjoy it.

Welcome!~ I'd recommend CastleVania: Portrait of Ruin. It has really good gameplay and nice tunes. :)
