Choices for a new media player?

Are you serious about the Zune? I never really gave the Zune much thought. Microsoft did it, so I have a natural suspicion. Plus, I've never seen anyone that bought one. Not really much use for the social stuff.

The Zunes I've encountered (all of 'em) have all seemed pretty solid. Certainly prettier to comb through menus than an iPod by comparison. In fact the only thing I can think of as a knock against it would just be lack of more Zunes being around to swap music. I'm thinking of jumping ship as well, seeing as how more and more people I know are getting them and it honestly makes my iPod seem plain. Screen is nice and certainly more enjoyable to watch movies on (for the 80GB anyway). All-around solid player.
