Converting DVD's to iPod

well i gto an iPod video (30 gb) and i wanna putt movies on it so.... i m trying to copy the DVD to my computer... but it wont work for sum odd-as-hell reason... so i need some help... i need either a method or program that imports/copys a DVD to a computer... from there iTunes will convert it to my iPod... thanks for da help *****es XD
