The Gamecube had better graphics than the PS2, but that wasn't enough to 'pull people in'. It's all about reputation, and unless more and more casual gamers are buying Nintendo products, realising that there isn't that much kiddy about the systems, it's not going to change much.

Price is the key to this gens' console battle.

Graphics bring in these "casuals", regardless of price, this showed on the PSP.

RE: Animal Crossing

Nope, not true. Gamecube has better graphics than the PS2, but the PS2 probably sold about four times as many. If Sony released the DS and Nintendo released the PSP, I still think the Playstation version would get a hell of a lot of fans buying it. This is because of the reputation Sony has developed all over the land, not just from games fans either. Everyone knows the PS2. Not everyone knows Nintendo, and if they do, they're 'kiddy'.

As I said before, they need to make it alot cheaper, since the next-gen will be really, REALLY expensive. Then, some people will look at 'OK, I like playing EA games. They're out on all consoles. Why not get a Revolution, since it's cheaper?' Then, once they get it, people will realise it isn't too bad. I think it's the only way.

Good to see I'm right for once XD!

The PSP doesn't seem to be selling as well as expected, but I'm sure it's still doing OK. £180 + games is a lot of money to splash out, so maybe some people are still saving up and will get it soonish.
