file recovery

right, my computer crashed on me, so i had to do system recovery, so quite obviously, it deleted my files. I need a good programme, simple to use, and efficent to help me track down al the work ive lost, all the word documents, notepad documents, music libary and the like.
Ive tried handy recovery and one other, if you know of a better one, please share.
cheers

edit- while im at it, my cousin talks of a programme that will take all of your music of your ipod then transfer it to your computers itunes, rather than if you were to connect your ipod and all your music will be erased by the exsisting computers itunes libary.

Try this program, PC Inspector. It works for me, it just takes a few minutes or so of setting up.

That's the only one that I know that works for me.
