Optical is not the same as laser.
I feel like Captain Obvious for saying that, but it looks like one or two people here might be getting them mixed up. On Newegg, the cheapest optical mouse goes for about $9 after shipping and the cheapest laser mouse goes for about $15 after shipping. Of course, nobody these days wants a basic 2 or 3-button mouse, especially if they do any gaming.

Wow...australia gets optical mise cheap...ours is like 15 dollars...
But lasers are comming into play now...they are heaps better. I think its like a disc laser. Once its broken...ITS BROKEN!

I think I might be switching from Logitech to Saitek if I'm going to have a brand preference. I like my Saitek joystick much more than I ever liked my Logitech joystick.
