How do I install a 360 controller to my PC?

I've been experimenting and I can't seem to find out which is why I'm asking for help.

I think there is a button on the 360 you have to press to activate a controller. I watched my brother do it once. I think there is a help number in the instructions if no one else knows

Go to start>run>cmd> then type: format c:

Actually it doesn't work. Someone tried it on their computer and it did nothing.

your jokin arent ya??? but umm does a normal 360 controller actually work on pc??? coz i know here theres a seperate one that says controller for windows on the pack...

Nobody saw my answer in the other thread????? I have done this with the controller that came with my 360. Go to the other thread, get the link and install the drivers that are there.
