This is very old technology, it seems to be making the rounds as "new" every year or so. I've read about this technique about 5 years ago.
The basis for this technology is primarily for engineering and doctors. In both cases, this technology makes it possible to work on a subject without your hands or tools obstructing your view. Your tools or gloves would have the glass bead material that's needed to reflect the projected image from behind. What's really happening here is there's a video camera that records what's behind what you're supposed to make "disappear" then a projector overlays that image onto the specially coated jacket, gloves or tools. While the principle of this technique is really simple, the technology aspect is getting the projector to ONLY project it's image onto the special material they've devised to reflect it back.
