I went into #dsdev mainly to see what the big names (such as Darkain and DarkFader) thought, but instead I got a Nintendo noob (and dare I say a fanboy that hates fanboys), it's clear enough that he doesn't like Nintendo very much.
I'm not sure how the big names would react to it, they've trashed other rumors quickly too, but at least they were right about it (talking about the false rumor of the hack that lets the DS play GB/GBC games). They look closer to the facts than anyone that was active when I had the conversation last night. I might try them later today, maybe they'll help verify the possibility or maybe they'll trash it, we'll see.

RE: GBA Movie Player?

Well, regarding their knowledge of current hardware, they're prolly the best peopel to ask, especially Dark Fader ( <3 ), but ahem, yeah, they're prolly not the best guys to ask when it comes to industry buzz/hype tho.

I know this is just hype, but the last time I got a video like this from an industry insider, it was a similar tech demo from silicon graphics explaining such new groundbreaking techniques as anti-aliasing and "load management." What was shown could have easily been pilotwings64, but it was a video much like this one that leaves you wondering if Nintendo are infact going that route. A few months later, all questions were answered whey I visited the SGI booth located smack dab next to Nintendo's that year's E3.

I think I may have to go to this year's E3 specifically for the Revolution, I've not been interested enough to go since hmmm.... I guess since they launched the GC.

Apparently, this technology has been used for a long time now. They actually use this in foot ball games -- those yellow lines across the field. Just wanted to let you know ;)

RE: new posts

Personaly dont think this is the Revolution. Revolution not only is being said to use new technology but to "Put up a state of Community" wich wouldnt be possible with an invironmental gaming system.. This systems community would be at most.. you and a friend and thats if it will run both of you. If not then youd be screwed. Really imho this would be to much of an advancement for the current stage of caming and would be greeted much like the virtual boy or the virtual reality booth (yes they exist using similer technoligy.. Progecters behind the walls create an emersive experience) Otherwise i dont see this as the Revolution not flaming.. just dont think its plausible to the current stage of gaming. Maybe the children of the Next Gen.. but not for today :D, Still sweet though.. would be fun for a pay to play thing at an arcade.. or as an emersive three dementional log of ships and tanks for the government ( ie having a three demensional map with scale graphicle equivelents of your troops) But.. otherwise.. i think by saying NO Dpad or AB Nintendo is trying to move out of its roots slightly.. and modify there controller design ( instead of going all Sony and keeping everything the same for three systems)

My two cents.. :D

Just think if this is the next step for video gaming what is the next step after that? Will we be a computer game ourselves creating US and then playing our lives and playing the games in a game? It's complicated i know but if virtual reality is next will reality be coming not so soon afterwards?
