I live up north, but I have....well a normal accent I suppose, but I use Geordie words, and I'm proud. I dont know why you southerners must look down your nose at us.. I personally have a dislike to london, the tube really does my head in. And we will pay [higher] taxes, I'm pretty sure of it. They cant just pull a billion pounds out of thin air now can they? And to be fair when have you ever seen the North on Tv apart from when the famouse newcastle united are playing? We deserve more attention, the north is growing, may I remind you even though you were meant to have the millenium bridge before us we still got it before you lot. anyway I have went very off topic so I'll keep it at that, but I cant stand it when we get nowt. Sorry if I offended anyone, but things like this annoy me. Blair backs it up as though its a british bid, it's not. It's not even and english bid - its a london bid.

i had a similar argument like this on a previous forum.
please stop the talk about taxes as its such a studpid thing to argue over. it has been said alot of money from the national lottery will be going towards the olympics, taxes will only slightly rise over the country and the rest of the money is coming from the olympic commitee.
also please stop the whining "oerooo neooo we aint gettin nout up here". we deserve more attention? london is the CAPITAL of the country obviously it will get more attention. london beats the north in all aspects of living, you name it its better over here.
