C&C: Red Alert 3 coming to the DS?!

I’m not ashamed to say that Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is my favorite real-time strategy game of all eternity. But after EA assimilated (and split up) its developer, Westwood Studios, I had given up all hope of ever seeing my beloved RTS ever again (although, admittedly, Generals was pretty good). But now it seems that there’s hope for all you other Red Alert fanboys out there. A Dutch website has apparently posted details on an upcoming sequel in the beloved Red Alert series, and specifically mentions the Nintendo DS (although you can bet EA will bring it to the PC as well).

In all my hours of speculation of what the DS could bring to the table, I never once took into consideration its RTS capability. After all, most RTS console ports are abysmal failures, mere shadows of their former mouse-enabled selves. But with the DS’s touchscreen capabilities, controlling dozens of units could be a snap. And with a second screen to display the ever-important map and power meter, RA3 could be the best console RTS ever made (not that that’s saying much).[end transmission]

i hope what this man says is true

RE: Turning off MY DS and the touch screen

I hope you remove your signature or else I'll probably go blind and/or bat**** insane by the end of the month. Frickin' horrible, dude.

Anyways, they're already bringing Age of Empires to the DS, although I heard it will be turn-based instead of real-time. Meh, I don't have much confidence in a good Command & Conquer-game ever being made again. I'll keep my Advance Wars for my handheld strategy fix, thanks.

Stop believing what you say have any influence on what I choose to write or not. Second, I was merely critizing his awful signature. It hurts my eyes and all. Also, learn how to quote.

Edited: Hell, what's wrong with the quoting? It won't work.

Read the forum rules, please.

I was referring to what exactly a quote is. To make an example everyone should understand: When you're quoting a specific line someone once said, do you quote their entire conversation? No, you simply quote the part that you are responding to. Case in point:

In a thread about recent movies you have seen, Guy 1 posts the following:

- I saw [movie 1] just the other night. I thought it was great, [actor] did a really great job, and the script was top-notch, just as I have come to expect of [director]. I highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for a great [genre].
However, I also saw [movie 2]. To be honest, it plainly sucked. Terrible CG effects, complete lack of focus, and bad supporting actors are all things you can expect to be slapped in the face with when you go to see [movie 2]. Avoid it at all costs!

Now, while one might expect a film review to be a little longer, even when making a list, it works for what I'm trying to prove. Say Guy 2 read what Guy 1 said, and, while not having seen [movie 1], completely disagrees about what Guy 2 said about [movie 2]. Guy would then proceed to quote the part about [movie 2], and not [movie 1] - simply because nothing that he has to say bears any relevance. Do you see what I mean? You delete the part which you aren't responding to in your post. Guy 2's post would then look something like this:

Quote:

Are you sure you have seen the right movie? I though it was yada-yada-yada.

You see what point I'm trying to make? And Lkr, please acture mature enough not to bring any grudges you have with me on from other threads. I respect that you don't share my views, but please refrain from polluting other topics with off-topic discussions. Although what you wrote was an attack of me as a person.
