If people don't realize you're a nerd, it's because you aren't. To be a nerd you need to not fit in. If you aren't a nerd, being a geek is your best and only option for being technologically smart. I agree with SM about you not being a full geek, you talk with less intelligence than a full geek or even a half geek. People might call you a geek, but that's because they don't use technology nearly as much, but it's the knowing and not the using that counts.
