I disagree with both comments, but I do think non-social people become a lot more social online, since anonymity can be comforting for those people and encourage them to take chances and get noticed. There are also the people who are paranoid about the internet, they discourage themselves.
The internet just amplifies personalities and opinions that people normally keep to themselves or things they find harder to do in real life.

Everybody becomes someone else, a new person or an alternative self to be precise.
