GamersDaily, the wonderful guys behind the (you guessed it) GamersDaily podcast, are officially closing their doors.

GamersDaily: Another Champion Retires

We started GamersDaily on June 17, 2005, because at the time, no video game podcasts were "speaking our language." While it was a labor of love, the ultimate goal was always to make it earn enough actual income to make the time spent on it worthwhile. Unfortunately, 9 months later, we still haven't come to that point, and as a result, GamersDaily will be closing permanently in a few days.

We just wanted to let you all know, our regular visitors, how grateful we all are for your support. We have met great people, and made many new friends as a result of this family of gamers we have formed. We will be recording a "live" final podcast to thank everyone, review the last of the games in our "review queue" (these will be lightning-fast 1-minute reviews), and let you know where our hosts can be found after the site closes.

Thankfully, like good ol' Lennox above, we make our leave WITHOUT SUCKING.

Episodes 1-53 (And the last show) will be available until March 31, 2006.
All iTunes Episodes 45-53 will be available until March 23, 2006.
All web content will be available until March 13, 2006.

For those of you who didn't have a chance to be graced by the likes of TopaZ, theFold, Agent J, sassan (<3), rubba D, and countless others (sorry for not mentioning), you truly missed out on one of the best gaming podcasts out there. The best part was that it was just a bunch of regular joe gamers, not the spawn of a large site. They never hesitated to tell you how much a game sucked, nor from praising a game for its unique gameplay and competitive price (free!).

It is with great sorrow that I have to say goodbye to such a great group of guys, doin' the do with their podcast. Seriously, if you never listened to their podcast, download some of the episodes. They are awesome.

I'm probably the only one here (besides the great Pilot_51) who feels the shock of the end of such a great podcast. Oh well. R.I.P., GamersDaily.

That is a shock, heck, them simply shutting down their IRC channel was shocking (I used to idle in there all the time, with only Topaz being the other idler). I sort of think they gave up in the end quicker than they should've, Topaz announced a competition on the podcast saying that people need to join the IRC channel and tell the answer to win, but about 8 hours after the release, he said only 2 or 3 people came and he killed it, which I think is too quick since some people are busy for 8 hours in the day or simply don't get around to listening to it for a couple days (like myself as of lately).
I had my little bits of GD fame, mentioned 2 or 3 times in the podcasts and once in a news entry on the site (along with fischju), and I think I'm their favorite listener (I think everyone else that came in the IRC more than once was just the cast). I'll try to keep in contact with Topaz since he's been so cool and open to me. I'll certainly miss the podcast.

I'll definitely be there for the "live" last episode.
