"Christian" means "Christ like", so I guess the closer you are to the description of Christ the more of a Christian you can consider yourself. I'm not so clear on the relation between believing in Christ and actually being like him, but it seems quite strong.
Anyways are we going off topic here?

Yeah I suppose he took it a bit far basically saying we're real Christians and you aren't, but you still have plenty of room to improve to get to our general level.
