Check out the TV where the LOGO shows XBOX360... to the right, you see a speck of white light. And if you look at the HALO2's TV, the speck is gone.

AKA FAKE!

Just another way to promote Xbox360.

Doesn't look so fake to me. The point is, the kid has been pwned. And he probably cost his father his job.

Not fake. Those are just some pixels that are left uncovered in production. Besides, on the dark halo backdrop, they would be near impossible to see.

RE: Xbox 360: Spotted in the Wild

Also, heh, the Xbox360 isn't even on.

Still doesn't prove the Xbox360 is backwards capable. There probably is another Xbox behind him (behind the pillow?).

RE: Xbox 360: Spotted in the Wild

Umm... Like I said earlier, they confirmed the 360 would be. You are correct, it doesn't appear to be on, but that's just a little light on a test prototype. Real or not, this guy's an idiot.

RE: Xbox 360: Spotted in the Wild

Oh, they confirmed it already? My bad then :P

edit: Not quite 100% backwards capability:

RE: Xbox 360: Spotted in the Wild

Well, you have to consider that they have to be able to play games that were designed specifically for an nVidia GPU on an ATi GPU. I'm probably wrong, though. >_<

On a related note,
does anyone know how the backwards compatabillity works?
If it's an emulator, they could keep working on the emulator and you could just download a new one to the harddrive...

RE: I

Here's what IGN says:

Quote:
Will Xbox 360 be backwards compatible?

The problem with backwards compatibility is that the original Xbox ran on an nVIDIA graphics processor. When software makes calls to a chipset to produce visuals it uses code specific to that hardware. Xbox 360 runs on an ATI graphics chip meaning that code from last generation games will need to be recompiled or emulated in order to work on the system. Does this mean that consumers will have to chuck their beloved Xbox libraries? Not necessarily. There is a chance that Xbox 360 will have the ability to emulate the old system, though nothing has been announced as of yet.
