DS Sells Out in Japan

Wow. It's rare for a product to completely sell out just from sheer popularity and momentum this long after launch. Nintendo has released an apology for not getting out enough units in Japan, having sold out at many locations.

It is possible that Nintendo buys their own products from stores, then resells them - losing profit, but ultimately increasing popularity. And I'm insane.

See if a product sell out like this, then it is a proper 'sold out', thus making it popular. The 360 wasnt really the same because MS only gave 14 consoles to each store, this, this is actually pretty big, since its a year after launch.

well, that depends on what store, the cosco near us got over 100 on launch day, and our best buy got 54

gee ive never heard of a console in general selling out this late after launch.... like i know the zelda edition SP was sold out in my area for about a month, and the pink DS is all but sold out, silver is common, and only kmart has blue :P
