Today Nintendo launched the GB Micro in European regions. This new design of the Gameboy Advance was available in 4 colours - silver, blue, green and pink. I was lucky enough to pick my new silver Micro up at 9am from my local Game store. The manager said sales were expected to be slow of the new handheld mainly because of the price and lack of advertising - however it wasn't long before 4 or 5 other Nintendo fans were beside me picking up their Micros.
My own opinion, is that this is a machine that will advertise itself. In many ways, its more jaw dropping than the PSP - I have certainly had more positive reactions to the Micro on its first day in public than i did with my PSP. People were constantly wanting to look and ask about it when i pulled it out in public, and its hardly surprising.
The GB Micro is something that has to be seen before you can fully appriciate it. IT is just so tiny. The screen has 5 levels of brightness (eat that PSP!) and possibly the best screen ever used in a portable (yes.. its brighter than the PSP). It just oozes quality, with metal buttons and a more adult look to it.
With the GB Micro in your hands, your GBA games are brought back to life. I picked up 'Castlevania Aria Of Sorrow' with the Micro and I must admit, its simply stunning. The small screen may have been a concern to many of you, but it works fine. Reading text is no problem (eventually) and the high resolution looks gorgeous. Even if you have given up on your GBA games, this should breathe new life into them.
In my humble opinion, this is the worlds first practical and portable console. Sure the SP could fit in your pocket, but the Micro makes it look like a brick in comparison. IF you can spare the £70, then I highly reccommend it.
