Nintendo Wifi Mario Kart DS First Day Numbers

According to WiTendoFi.com, 180,000 players were online today with Mario Kart DS. Today was the official launch of the game and the service, and we can assume that at least 150,00 of those units were sales. Not bad for the first day of sales, then again, we did not expect anything less from Nintendo.

The wifi is still really cool, it's just that we wish for more features, it's almost a bare bones online multiplayer. Even without the wifi, I still think it's the best game this year (or ever for DS), it's got really good local multiplayer (single cart pwns) and lots of stuff to do in single player. For $35 it's definitely worth it.

dude wi-fi is freaking awesome... i mean its pretty fun when you do regional and worldwide, but playing the TDS members all night long is a freaking blast

i cant wait to try it out. i hope my wifi router is compatible :S. Im no a big fan of the number friend thing but since were paying didlly squat for the service i aint really comlaining. was watching a review of it and it looks the business (and the reviews are unieversally great).

According to Nintendo, in one week more than 45% of the people who have purchased Mario Kart DS have taken their game online via the free Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service.

In just one week, more than 112,000 copies of Mario Kart DS have been sold in the US. Of that number more than 52,000 unique system/game pairs have connected to the online service for Wi-Fi multiplayer gaming...
