Namco finally realeases another Tales game, this time it's for the DS! it is set to be released in Japan on August 24th, 2006 for the US it should release by the end of this year. Its battle-system is called "3 on 3 Linear Motion Battle System", and is 3D with 3 lines (whereas Tales of Rebirth was 2D with 3 Lines. Remember in Tales Symphonia when you check a persons stats you see a nice anime pick of the pserson, they've brought it back in this game as well. This game and Tales of the Abyss for the PS2 are the only known new Tales games that are releasing by the end of this year. This looks like a great game and a fine addition to your DS game library.

Not exactly, the only 2 Tales games that actually were continuations from eachother was "Tales of Destiny and Tales of Destiny 2 (PS2 Version). They are all conneted in some way of fashion though. Every Tales game has cameos of other Tales characters from other Tales games, Like Farah, Garr, and Meredy from Tales of Eternia appearing in Tales of Symphonia...you fight them in the arena and they are hard as f***.

Ive been looking forward to this for quite some time, i watched a gameplay video a while back of an early version, it looked pretty good in motion, but these screenshots make it look kinda blocky. anyway, ill be getting this on release.

Me too, while I was looking for the release date for Tales of the Abyss a half-year back, I found this on the Tales site I go to. They just got these screenshots recently and they also had one gameplay video...the game was still in early development though.

Because we are speaking of the Tales games iv got a Q'
In Tales of Symphonia you are able to go into a colloseum.
Iv been in there once when you have to (to save kate) but after that I cant get in.
I NEED TO KNOW IF YOU ARE ABLE TO GET IN LATER.

ALso going with the whole storyline connection bit.... I still think tales of phantasia and tales of symphonia are related. Not directly, but they are definately related. Ironically, i think that symphonia time wise came before phantasia, even though phantasia was created back in the snes days and symphonia in the gc days.

The great tree inhabited by the spirit of martel was referenced in both games. Some people speculate what the tree was actually named when lloyd decided to name it. In the past era of phantasia, the trees name was yggdrasil, which is the name of the main boss of symphonia, and a possible name for the tree when lloyd and collete were standing there at the end. Also, throughout symphonia, they mentioned the use of magiechnology in the past, and how the splitting of the worlds and vieing for mana stopped it from creating wars. Once lloyd brought the world back together, its posible that magitechnology was recreated, and in a few hundred years or so (making a guess at the time) magitechnology was at its peak again (like in the past before the worlds were split). In other words history repeats itself. But, to contradict myself completely, it could mean phantasia also happened before symphonia. Either way, i still think that the 2 games are connected, although not directly, in an order of time.

Well, im playing through my first Tales game right now, and have been the past week, and im really enjoying it, Tales of Eternia on PSP. Its a very, very fun game, alot of depth and a nice story. One thing ive noticed is that the battles in this are 3d as apposed to Eternias Side Scrolling battles. Is this a first? Symphonia mustve had 3d battles.

Edit, oh right, i get it, looking at the pictures, lol, didnt really look at them in much detail before, each player is on there on line? Heh, a pretty cool way of doing it.

To Dhaka, mostly all the Tales series mention magitechnology, magictechnology is a element for all most of the Tales series.

ToS is not related to ToP because of one out of many facts, the Giant Kharlan Tree.No Tales game has the tree. Basically, no Tales game has a sequal, the only 2 that does are Tales of Destiny and Tales of Destiny 2 (PS2 Versioin).

What you are seeing are "Cameos" of sort. Every Tales game has a Cameo of future or recent Tales games like fighting Farah amd Meredy(Tales of Eternia Characters) in the battle arena in Tales of Symphonia.
