Why mention it if it makes you calibrate first and calibrating eliminates the interference? I think there could still be interference problems if the lighting is all wrong even after calibrating, but we all hope it'll be minimal. I wonder what exactly the light interferes with, the light sensor in the controller or is there some way it actually interferes with the wireless signal?

You know, I was thinking the EXACT same thing. If the calibration fixes it, why would you mention such an issue? It may have to do with the type of document this came from. What we need to worry about is if it says that in the instruction manual, because then it must be an actual problem...

I don't think it's got a camera. And the lighting thing doesn't bother me. I would turn off the lights between me and the TV anyway because of glare.

Interestingly, according to documentation the Wii-mote is able to act as something of an eye, measuring coordinates between 0-1023 on the X axis and 0-767 on the Y axis, which means that it is more or less seeing a megapixel image. Whether or not this data can be interpreted into visual information remains unknown, but we're not ruling out the possibility that the pointer could sub as a camera. This is, of course, purely speculative on our part, but stranger things have certainly happened - like, for instance, an internal speaker.

Dude, Wii Sports doesn't use your face, it just has a face editor.

A camera would rock though... and an inbuilt ice cream machine, but meh, can't have everything.
