Wii Remote Details Unveiled

Some recent documentation has surfaced detailing the Wii's controller and how much of the inards work exactly...

~ Uses 2 AA batteries.
~ 30-60 hour battery life depending on type of use.
~ Communicates with Wii console via 2.4 GHz Bluetooth signal.
~ Contains 6KB of non-volatile memory for an unknown purpose.
~ SYNCHRO button on console and remote tell system which controllers are working with it.
~ A shortcut for SYNCHRO is holding the 1 & 2 buttons.
~ Each controller is given a wireless ID number.
~ All buttons are digital.
~ The 20cm long Sensor Bar has a sensor on each end which interacts with Wii-mote.
~ LEDs on WiiMote used to indicate battery life as well as which player it corresponds to.
~ Halogen lamps, fluorescent lights, and light from plastic or mirrors can affect the Wii's sensors.
~ To combat this, the Wii-mote needs to first register the coordinates of the two sensors on the sensor bar

I thought they were only using AA's for the development versions and would swap it with lithium ion in the final. Also it being easily affected by surrounding light seems scary, I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

Meh, you can always use rechargable AA batteries. No harm... and I suppose no time to develop the battery setup for the Lithium (I have no clue what I'm saying).

And I doubt the light will have any affect as 89% of Nintendo fanbois live in their parent's dark basment. =/

Yeah, I was hoping for recharagable too, but 30-60 hours is some good game time. I'm sure you'll have a crapload of 3rd party paks come out pretty quick, just like for the Game Boy.

And Pilot, it says that shouldn't be a problem because "the Wii-mote needs to first register the coordinates of the two sensors on the sensor bar". This helps keep the interference from...well, interfering.

Well, I'm conflicted on the batteries. First it adds unnecessary weight, though I don't know how a Li battery compares in that aspect. Second, I hate having to replace batteries, but it did work well with the Wavebird, however the wavebird had no rumble.
