RE: Leaked Revolutions specs
Let me throw a rumor into the fray here:
Look at the resolution on these pics of the LOZ:TP could this be what we might when we play it on the Revolution? 1216 x 896 http://cubemedia.ign.com/cube/image/...6014844500.jpg http://cubemedia.ign.com/cube/image/...6014851921.jpg http://cubemedia.ign.com/cube/image/...6014855796.jpg (see more: http://media.cube.ign.com/media/572/572738/imgs_1.html)

RE: Leaked Revolutions specs
PLAYSTATION 3 SPECIFICATIONS
CPU: Cell Processor PowerPC-base Core @3.2GHz --1 VMX vector unit per core --512KB L2 cache --7 x SPE @3.2GHz --7 x 128b 128 SIMD GPRs --7 x 256KB SRAM for SPE --*1 of 8 SPEs reserved for redundancy --Total floating point performance: 218 gigaflops GPU RSX @ 550MHz --1.8 TFLOPS floating point Performance --Full HD (up to 1080p) x 2 channels --Multi-way programmable parallel Floating point shader pipelines --Sound Dolby 5.1ch, DTS, LPCM, etc. (Cell-based processing) MEMORY 256MB XDR Main RAM @3.2GHz 256MB GDDR3 VRAM @700MHz System Bandwidth Main RAM-- 25.6GB/s VRAM--22.4GB/s RSX-- 20GB/s (write) + 15GB/s (read) SB2.5GB/s (write) + 2.5GB/s (read) SYSTEM FLOATING POINT PERFORMANCE: 2 teraflops XBOX 360 SPECS Processor Type IBM Custom PowerPC-based 3.2 Hz Instruction set RISC Architecture Features Vector processing unit Memory / Storage RAM installed size 512 MB HDD Capacity 20 GB Video Video Output ATI Xbox 360 GPU Fill Rate : 500 million triangles/sec Memory RAM technology GDDR3 Connections Input/Output connections 3 x USB (4 pin USB Type A), 1 x Ethernet (RJ-45) Suckyness Rate: HIGH theses numbers don't really mean alot. We'll have to see benchmarks to get an understanding of what system can really do what. I can tell you that the daul core processor will (in the short term likley) be better then the 8 core (7 on, 1 off) PS3 Processor and even the 360's 3 core processor, because it's less cumbersome for programmers.

RE: Re: RE: Update
::pinches salt and throws::
ok assuming they are the specs for the revo... that aint bad at all. lots of memory, great grapics chip, multitreaded (more than 2) processor at 2.5GHz and physics processing unit (with 32MB of its own ram). If this is true then nintendo may have made a very nice console in terms of power. ive read about these physics processors and apparently (i think these figures are right. will edit if i see otherwise) a P4 dual core can only deal with about 800-1000 falling objects where as this processor can deal with up to 32000 objects. Its all theoretical of course but if these figure are anything to go by then the revo is definately no slouch. certainly wont be too far behind the competition ( and who knows it may surprise us). again we will see if this is true or not. |
