You're missing the point. What I'm trying to say is that games should try to be as realistic as possible when it's based off of a realistic scenario, without adding more violence and gore just to keep the excessive-violence-loving people happy. Look at the movies, they're known to exaggerate explosions and whatnot, such as a random car exploding like 10 pounds of C4 when it crashes (why would we have seatbelts if the car explodes every time we crash? We'd be better off flying out the windshield, bouncing off a cement wall, and getting run over by a UPS truck). The way I see it, games exaggerate violence and felonies in much the same way, such as racing through streets and going on killing sprees in populated cities without much resistance.
Sure, people need somewhere to vent their anger (or so they say), so instead of feeding their anger through violence (which makes them feel better once they get a feeling someone else paid the price, even if it's just a simulated image) they could vent it completely harmlessly by going into a closet or sound-proof room or some place where they can yell until they feel relieved without annoying other people (I've heard that actually works).
