The Official "Wii-shots" Thread

The basic premise here is to post "screenshots" (that you snap with a camera) of places or scenes (etc.) that you think are awesome. Bare with me on the specifics here, but I'm sure you understand the idea. The point is to not only show off cool parts of games, but to show off your setup in the process. I'll post one pic today, and I'll post a few more tomorrow.

This is actually an old picture I snapped back in early December when I first started to "get into" the game (prior, I had mostly been tooling around with the controls and never left the first village). While it's not my best shot, it's an awesome showcase of how good the Wii can look using composite cables.

Bright, colorful. The component cables make the image significantly sharper, but the beauty of Zelda is not lost in SD. Note that this is hooked up to my Sammy DLP. I've since moved it into the bedroom onto an LCD. That's where my future shots will come from.

Stipulations:

Any shot that you post must be taken by a camera to the screen. It also must be of Wii games, and/or VC games. Maximum image size should be 640x480 (imageshack can resize it for you). Other than that, go crazy.

Does it necessarily need to be taken by a camera? I could just hook it up directly to my PC and capture a shot that way. I've always despised indirect screenshots, it's just an unprofessional method.

The whole underlying premise is to show off your setup in the process. A direct capture defeats this purpose. Also to prove who has the best camera skillz. It's not meant to be professional.

Reading comprehension ftw.

Also, way to spell "Component" incorrectly.

(Sorry, didn't mean to come off as an ass there. Just sleep-deprived is all.)

It's just the way you took your picture didn't show any of your setup, it looks like you tried to make it as much like a direct screenshot as you could. You might as well hurry up on those other pics...

My problem is, my setup is junk, it's on a 10 year old CRT (I think it's about 25"), so I don't get any good feeling showing it off. My sisters and parents all have the better flat CRT's probably no more than 4 years old; my dad actually bought himself a 480i HDTV when he moved to New Jersey for work, the first HDTV in the family and he's the only one that gets to enjoy it all the time. *sniff* I guess I need to find a job.
I don't see what the big deal was with Wii not supporting HD, with those newer TV's it looks to me exactly like it's in HD.

Well, this is the original thread that inspired me (though I keep track of similar threads on various forums) to do this:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...ht=screenshots

Don't ask me why I picked that particular page. I'm searching for something and I needed a quick link.

Also, don't be ashamed of your TV.

New batch. These are hooked up to the bedroom LCD with the component cables. Notice the immediate difference in clarity and color accuracy.
